Swynford manor wedding photographers review

The Venue

A modern wedding venue with a twist of the traditional. Swynford manor is a superb example of a high-quality wedding venue at affordable prices.

Within a five-minute drive from of Newmarket and situated off the A11 near Cambridge. Swynford manor wedding venue is everything you could ask from a wedding venue.

As a wedding photographer with many years experience of in photographing weddings. I have seen the good and the bad in all wedding venues. Either the venues are lovely to look at and then let down by poor management or even worse poor catering.

Swynford is none of these.

Lots of wedding blogs love to show off the couples and their wedding day and tell the reader how lovely they looked at their wedding, well those blogs are ten a penny and to be honest, get boring after a while.

Wedding photographer’s honest review

My point of view is one of how good a wedding venue can be.

A classic country house on the exterior with a modern twist on the inside.

A little dark for some but with lots of natural light for most. Not to every couple’s taste but different.

The bridal suite is large, and well decorated with plenty of room for the bride and bridesmaids, and above all air conditioning.

My! a godsend on a hot summer day. On what was the hottest summer day of 2022, hitting 40 degrees.

So many wedding venues don’t have an a/c, and everyone melts.

The groom prep cottage is again lovely if a little pokey, but no air conditioning and boy do you feel it.

Walking in the grand entrance feels like you’re entering a grand country manor house.

The Sweeping staircase. Great for confetti raining down on a rainy day or for intimate couples’ shots. The main bar set out like a traditional British pub.

So much better than a modern lifeless soulless bar that many wedding venues have, and so much more interesting.

The study for the inside wedding or even outside into the garden courtyard for an outside wedding.

On a summer’s day would be perfect, which at this wedding the couple had arranged

The problem being at 40 Degrees the registrars refused to hold the wedding outside, so inside we went

Leading to the garden room, which is the main banqueting room for the wedding breakfast and doubles as the dance floor. Very large, with lots of natural light and is a joy to be in either as a guest or as the wedding photographer.
Conclusion

I found Swynford manor to be a pleasing wedding venue. The management is on the ball, anticipates problems before they happen, and tries to solve issues. In a nutshell a well-run wedding venue.
