What a lovely little wedding venue the compasses@ pattiswick.
A family-run wedding venue in the heart of the Essex countryside. A former pub still with its original bar and fittings. If I was getting married again then this is the place I would choose
So laid back and easy-going. Your wedding your way, your wedding at the compasses is about you and all about you. No management controlling you and telling you what to do. No set times.
Have your wedding breakfast when it suits you. The bar area with its log fires, big comfortable sofas and the real-world feel of you your private pub.
The wedding of Pat and Chantal in the summer of 2021. One of my first weddings of 2021 after the horrible year of lockdown. A past we all want to forget in the wedding industry.
Everyone was up for having a good time, masks seemed like a distant memory. The feel of this wedding day felt like weddings before the lockdown.
The Wedding was pretty much a friends wedding. The day was sunny, slightly overcast and had no rain. That makes a change from the pretty awful summer we’ve had in 2021.
Nice and easy going with lots of laughter a few tears from pats mum and lots of smiles from dad.
Canapes and drinks outside and the afternoon turned into a glorious summer wedding.
the Bride and Grooms entrances are slightly different. Chantal being Canadian, Draped in a massive Canadian flag.
With the wedding breakfast over, time for speeches. Some are a little over the top from the groom’s brothers but that’s to be expected and there’s nothing like brotherly banter.
The best speech was from the bride’s brother. All the way from Canada, beaming his speech on a mobile phone and all held up for all to see.
The compasses@ Pattiswick is a very nice wedding venue. Plenty of little nooks and crannies to relax in if you want to get away from the crowd.
No real negatives to speak of, just a nice little wedding venue.
