As a wedding photographer who mainly films in the Essex region, the Folkes makes a refreshing change.
A lovely wedding venue with absolutely superb catering. In fact, some of the best food I’ve had from a wedding venue.
Then couple this with the gastro pub next door, and you’re onto a culinary wedding winner.
The stables wedding venue
As an experienced wedding photographer, having filmed at hundred of wedding venues. The Ffolks is definitely one of the best.
A former classic 17th-century coaching house. Now an exclusive wedding venue.
capable of sitting 120 guests and offering a relaxed atmosphere. With an excellent management team and very helpful and relaxed staff.
the added bonus of having a pub next door as well and not any pub.
The Ffolkes at Huntingdon offers the best street food menu in the area. All are served in the local pub literally a minute’s throw from the stable wedding venue.
Stables bridal suite
Wow, what a bridal suite. Large, plush. The hayloft bridal suite set above the stables wedding venue is just the best. The “William holland” bath on its own is enough to talk about seeing it as believing it.
Stables wedding venue entertainment
Normally wedding venues offer very little entertainment for children, apart from the usual photobooth and sweet cart.
Not so at the Ffolkes. How about a game of mini-golf? Or to be more precise shipping container 9-hole mini golf.
Enough to keep the little ones entertained whilst the grownups do the wedding bit. The kids can play crazy golf to their hearts’ content.
If that’s not enough to keep them happy. How about the play area?
Shuffleboard, football table, zip wire. More than enough for the big and little kids.
Dedicated dance floor and a well-stocked bar. Maybe go for a drink in the pub after your wedding and have a little game of crazy go
As with most wedding venues. There is a dedicated garden area for the wedding photos
With the Ffolkes, this will be the dedicated all-weather courtyard with open air and covered seating, enough room for the big group shots and smaller intimates couple pictures

A very nice wedding venue with superb catering and entertainment for kids and adults alike. The food is just first class and can match any top wedding venue in the UK.
The management is very good and on the ball and all the staff are attentive and eager to be of service.
If there are any negatives it has to be the lack of outside space for the wedding pictures. The courtyard is great for the above balcony group shots. But a lawned garden area would be just as nice.
Having said that the courtyard does offer exceptionally good value for money. when you consider the cost of other wedding venues nowadays.
