The Lawn, Rochford
The wedding of Dan and Ruth at the lawn Rochford was that wedding day, The sun was shining, the bride looked stunning and the groom was nervous and the wedding music was Pachelbel in canon D. As an Essex wedding photographer. The highlight of any wedding day is going to be the perfect weather, the perfect Bride, friendly, bubbly guests, superb venue, what else can you ask for. Ruth was resplendent in her cream silk dress, Dan, smart and slick in his bow tie and cream jacket and ushers to match, a simple hands giving service.
From a photographer’s point of view, everything was in place to take the perfect images, no having to run around and gather people up, none of the guests refusing to smile, no awkward moments of nerves, even the kids were up for a few fun pics, being an all-white walled venue, lots of bounce flash mixed with ambient, even the shadows didn’t make an appearance. The only hard part was the direct harsh sunlight in the grounds with minimal shade, I was able to use that to my advantage later on with the couples individual shots after the group shots. If only all shoots could be like this day, for once even the uncle bob’s managed to keep their oar out of the frame.
Group shots out of the way, individual couple shots were done, the speeches were tearful, which of courses what I was looking for, always trying to be 30 seconds ahead of what everyone is thinking and getting that perfect shot just as it happens especially as Dan & Ruth’s son was giving his “my mum and dad” speech I could see Dan just about to produce the expected tear to top off the day and Ruth wasn’t far behind either, but I think It was Dan who stole the show, best man’s speech was over the top and this kept everyone in giggles for the rest of the day and as with any wedding it’s the speeches that put all the guests in a good mood for the evening, laughing and joking amongst themselves, there’s nothing worse than a groom or best man who can’t produce a humorous speech even taking the Mickey out of themselves. I say to the couple before any wedding it’s the speeches that will set everyone else up for the rest of the day, so any husband reading this blog, please be jovial and happy, and above all don’t be nervous and silent with your speech.
As the evening wore on, more guests arriving the sun starting to go down, golden hour approaching time for Husband and wife shots, and finally the first dance.

Wedding quote plz
My package covers all day from bridal preparations (make up, dress, shoes ,flowers, family and friends getting ready etc.) through the service, wedding breakfast, speeches, party, 1st dance etc, for this then you will get 300+ edited images onto a designer USB memory stick, on-line password protected gallery and airbrushing, The album is by a company called GF SMITH, very high quality A4 portrait or landscape 30 page double spread matt or gloss holding an average of 60/90 images
Depending on time constraints on the day directed model shots of you and your partner can look very good and are worth having done , not posed but directed to get the best out of the shot and made to look natural ,( there’s nothing worse than a posed stiff shot) as these can be magazine quality and i have done quite a few of these for brides on the day ( wedding page on website) with subtle natural and flash light and to be honest these would be the best images of the day and its really down to time constraints as weddings can be chaotic and time soon runs away and about an hour is needed to get the shots right
I would normally meet up with you and your partner to discuss your expectations for the day and show you different albums and prints ( no hard sell ) to get an idea of what type of photography you and your partner would like , ie , black and white , colour pick ( that’s b&w with certain parts picked out in colour ) close up, long distance formal or informal , posed or natural ( or both ) and generally for you to find out how i work and for me to find out what you like, from there if you were happy to go ahead we would agree through a contract , a deposit of half the amount , we would then meet again seven to ten days before the wedding at the venue if possible to discuss posed shots etc
I normally ask the couple to look through magazines and other sites to look at other wedding pictures that they would like taken on the day.
