The Reid rooms with Richard Thomas & Tracey Monk

The Reid rooms

The Reid rooms venue this is, ‘The Reid Rooms’ near Chelmsford, Essex. Originally built in the 18th Century and transformed into a stylish modern facility, still retaining its original charming features. Stunning setting, surrounded by beautiful Essex county views. The grounds are immaculate, sweeping driveway, sided by apple orchards, all in all a sweet gem. Photographers paradise!!

The day began in the Georgian House located within the grounds where Richard and Tracey would be staying for their first night as husband and wife. Also room for the rest of the family to stay, share a glass of champagne or two and celebrate their marriage after.

The wedding of Richard and Tracey was a scorcher at 37° alas I switch off as the wedding adrenaline sets in, get down to work, concentrating on delivering the whole day on camera is what it’s all about, created by the wonderful day so lets begin………..
Bridal prep with Tracey and her bridesmaids was well under way by the time I arrived and Tracey and her bridal party exited into the gorgeous grounds and it was, simply put, beautiful.
At the Chapel, a calm looking Richard watched as his gorgeous bride and her dad walked down the aisle. I’ve watched hundreds of brides walk down the aisle and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve seen anyone prouder than Tracey’s dad during those few precious moments. Guests seated and all windows open, the ceremony begins. Emotional in parts, funny in parts and always loads of love.

After the ceremony, the guests congregate in the courtyard where the canapés, champagne, orange juice and lots of water are served in the heat of the day. Had a few glasses myself ‘Water’ that is. I gave guests time to mingle, then too group shots as requested. Lots of sunlight and shadows, but HEY!! I love a challenge especially whilst melting in the heat. Then we are off, bride and groom shots in these perfect grounds, water reflections, a few funny gimmicks, kiss here, hug there, a nice wink, jackets off, beautiful backdrops, wonderful in every way.

Next the speeches and wedding breakfast, served by friends of Tracey and I am told was fantastic. “Hilary and Steve catered for the whole event and did a wonderful job and had lovely thank you gift from Rich and Trace, brought tears to my eyes”. Bestman was ACE, the gift of fortune cookies went down a treat and made for many laughs too. Son and stepson Ryan delivered a speech that made us all laugh for sure after a few, by the look on bride and groom faces anything could of happened, but all was fab in the end!

A beautiful couple, congratz from me.
