Most weddings are set to a standard format, just now, and again a wedding comes along that is just that little different.
The wedding of Simon & deb burrows was just that event, a bikers wedding and not just the Groom but the wife as well and to add a bit of spice to the day the bikes were part of the wedding as well. Now Simon being a proper biker, dressed in tails was not exactly his forte, so to speak and added with one the hottest days of the year, so far 30+ degrees on the 7th August, he did really well.
Deb decided not to have Bridal prep, but Simon the outgoing guy he is, did, trousers, shirt, cravat and to top it all off tails and not just him, also the best man and ushers as well and what a scorcher of a day it was. With most groom and best man shots a little humour makes the day go down well. I wouldn’t cross them!. I decided that deb needed some shots done even if she didn’t, as with most couples experience and body language tell me if the couple will be approachable on the day and although deb was nervous I could tell she was up for getting pictures even if she didn’t realize it.
The opportunity to take some decent off-camera flash images presented itself with the groom & ushers shots done some bike-mounted shots, Nikon sb910 in a single lastolite softbox manually fired went down well and we were able to repeat the set up again with the bride & groom after the service. An added bonus the couple being walking dead fans (no surprise there), I was able to do quick Photoshop trickery images for the couple (on the gallery “Simon & deb” ).
The day carried on, the weather was joyous if a little hot, the booze flowed the happy couple was, well happy and the guests added to the atmosphere. To top off the day a firework display, equal to any period drama firework’s display.
An Excellent day from an excellent couple. So if you ever decide to have a wedding that’s just that little bit different, a biker’s wedding at Leez Priory.
